Vintage Navajo Squash Blossom Necklace | Sterling Silver & Kingman Turquoise | Handcrafted | 31″ Total Length | 1970s

$6,000.00

This exquisite Squash Blossom Necklace was handcrafted in the early 1970s by Navajo (Diné) artisan James Franklin Woods, using sterling silver and natural Kingman turquoise. Every part of this necklace is entirely handmade, from the beads to the clasp to the individual squash blossoms—each one a unique piece of art. The beads themselves are made from two halves of sterling silver that were carefully soldered together to form a perfect, seamless design. The necklace measures 31 inches in total length, with the main section measuring 15.5 inches from the clasp to the bottom, where the Naja (horseshoe-shaped pendant) beautifully completes the design. The Naja is especially stunning, and its design is equally as breathtaking as the rest of the necklace. This piece weighs 203.8 grams, making it a solid and substantial work of art, yet it is perfectly balanced for wear. It has been preserved in its original, distinctive patina, with no polishing done, which adds to its unique character and authenticity. This necklace is truly a museum-quality piece—something you won’t encounter anywhere else. This necklace has been in my family collection for nearly 50 years. As Bill “Wandering Fox” Green, I can personally vouch for its craftsmanship and significance, having watched many of Jimmy’s creations come to life during my childhood. It is a rare and truly valuable collector’s item. Handcrafted beads with soldered sterling silver halves Handmade clasp Each squash blossom is unique and one-of-a-kind Stunning Naja bottom Weighs 203.8 grams Original patina—never polished. Museum-quality craftsmanship This necklace is part of a limited collection and once sold, it will not be restocked. It is an incredible opportunity to own a piece of Native American history and artistry.
